So, KP, what’s the plan?

Time for some big hitting, again

Time for some big hitting, again

Kevin Pietersen is the next captain of the England test team as they go into battle, against the South Africans, for the fourth time this summer. They have lost twice, which means they cannot have any bragging rights over the sneering bunch of cricketers from the south of Africa.

Stephen Harmison is back in the team after a long spell out. Quite correct, i believe. Ryan Sidebottom, For reasons best known to him, has been a passenger this series.

Stuart Broad is back. Correct. After all, 22 wickets need to be in the bag to set up any chance of winning.

But why has he decided he will play Ian Bell at number 3. Bell has been doing well at number 5 this season. I would rather have KP bat himself at 3 and lead from the front.

The Natwest series is next. Its time for a bit of a change in the ODI team. Maybe it is time to bring in the likes of James Benning in the opening slot. Cook, opening for the ODI team, just doesn’t cut it for me.

How about David Sales and Graham Napier in the middle order along with KP himself at 3 and Freddie wherever he wants to bat. Owais Shah and Ravi Bopara are a whole lot of warm air about potential when sitting on the sidelines, but absolute rubbish when it comes to crunch time.

Anyway, all the best KP. Hope your winning percentage is as high as your batting averages…or maybe more?
