After facing some criticism for the huge footprint of the first beta version, Mozilla has updated the beta version of the Firefox browser. This is for the Android version only, and is the second beta build.
The new build will take about 60% lesser space to install on an Android phone, which is great news for pre-Android 2.2 version users, who can only install apps on the phone memory.
Also tweaked is the page rendering speed, which is claimed to be 40% faster than the previous build. The new build also gets the capability to reopen a recently closed tab, as well as multitouch response levels.
Somehow, I still won’t use Firefox on my phone, simply because I don’t use it on my PC, even! Too much of a memory hog, and hugely dependent on add-ons, which may be a big security threat.
